Barcelona: July 7-14, 2019
The Troubadours are going abroad! We'll be attending the Federation Catalonia d'Entita Corals' 54th International Singing Week! We'll be staying and singing with choirs from around the world (full list of choirs coming soon.) Every afternoon we will participate in the choir workshop, and we will present three concerts- one TBD, one in the beautiful Santa Maria del Pei, and our final performance with all the choirs, at the world famous Palau de la Musica, Spain's most famous concert hall (see photo above!)
Along the way we'll be visiting Gaudi's Parc Guell, the Gothic quarter, Montserrat Abbey, the Dali museum, singing in Gaudi's La Sagrada Familia, and learning to Flamenco dance! There will be time to see Barcelona's famous shopping street, La Rambla, and the famous open market, La Boqueria. We'll eat tapas and pintxos (Ms. A's favorite) and maybe even take a siesta (but I bet we'll mostly be too excited.)

The Troubadours are, first and foremost, an ensemble- we know that all of us together are far more than the sum of our parts. So we are fully committed to leaving no Troubadour behind. We are guaranteeing that any Troubadour who wants to come, CAN- which means we need your help! You can support our singers in one of two ways:

The Susan Alberts Travel Fund Ms. Alberts' mother, Susan Alberts, died in December. Many of her final conversations were about this trip, which she was extremely excited about and planned to attend, and will take place over her birthday, July 11. Susie was an avid traveler whose lifelong love of adventure and meeting new people were the inspiration for this trip- she so loved the Palau de la Musica that she brought Ms A home a book about it. Though she cannot join us, we are gratefully accepting donations in her memory. To donate: 1) Write a check to the Bigelow PTO, with Susan Alberts in the memo line. 2) Mail it to: Jaime Alberts Bigelow Middle School 42 Vernon St Newton, MA 02458 |
